WHS is a special place. Whether you are hearing the band play on their way from the band room on a Friday night, or you are observing our students interacting with the adults on campus, you know this is a special place. We are competitive, compassionate, supportive, hardworking, and proud. Our rich school culture is a reflection of the students, the staff, and the community.
This year, while our teachers and club sponsors are stoking the fire in the classroom, our coaches are stoking the fire on the playing field. The attitude of our faculty, students, and citizens is, "If there is something going on, we want to be a part of it." It is that spirit that makes Welsh High School such a special place. We are truly blessed.
High school is a four-year marathon filled with potholes and tight turns. I tell incoming freshmen, “If you are approaching high school with a student vs. teacher mentality, you are doing high school wrong. It’s all of us together vs. what is waiting for you once you get your diploma.” Crossing the finish line is the ultimate goal for our teachers and our students because, "Once you are a greyhound, you will always be a greyhound."
Here's to a successful year for all us Greyhounds!
