Academic Athlete All-Stars!

This year Welsh High School had five students in the senior class qualify for Academic All-State. To qualify the athletes must maintain a 4.0 GPA throughout all four years of high school while participating in sports activities. All five boys that qualified play football together and are on the road to the dome while also being involved in other sports as well.

Principal Robin Primeaux had this to say, “The only other school in the entire state from 1-A to 5-A to have as many Academic All-State representatives is Jesuit High School in New Orleans. All of our Academic All-State students play more than one sport; some play basketball, some run track and play tennis, but all of them are also taking at least six to nine hours of college courses this semester. That is a lot for a student to take on. Not only do they assume a heavy work load, but they also excel at everything they do.”

We congratulate our All-Star Academic Athletes! Sam C, Thomas P, Tyler D, Landon H, and Logan P. Thank you for being great representatives of Welsh High School!
